Kerry KenCairn for Ashland City Council
I have lived and worked in Southern Oregon since 1977, and in Ashland specifically since 1983. Over the years, I have participated in community-oriented service, starting with environmental and agricultural concerns in the 70s and moving to current issues of affordability, equity, resource responsibilities, and conservation of our world and our place within it. I currently run a small Landscape Architecture and Site Planning Consultancy helping clients realize their design goals for their properties and projects.
I am running for City Council to express my ongoing commitment to the Ashland community and to help with decision-making on issues that affect us all.
I believe in personal responsibility, even-handed decision-making, and unbiased listening. My goal is to keep an open mind to opposing arguments to the greatest degree possible and integrate the positive elements those arguments might bring. I am a very straightforward communicator. I believe in transparency because I really don’t know any other way to operate in the world.
